The BLUGH: June 17, 2026

I love sleep because it is both pleasant and safe to use.

Hello!!!!!! Can you believe? BLUGH in the inbox. I hope you are happy to see it.

I have been yearning to BLUGH and so I finally sat myself down to do just that!! It’s been a few months since you heard from me, so I am going to catch you up by rating the experiences that I have had since the last BLUGH emerged from my brain. Experiences are presented in no particular order and will be rated on a scale of 1 to 10 BLUGHies. For the purposes of visualization, this is a BLUGHie: 🦭.

MUSEUM TOUR WITH LUC TRAVERS

🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭 10/10 BLUGHies

I think we can all relate to the feeling of admiring an art tour guide from a distance for 16 years but understanding that you might never get to take one of his tours because you don’t live in the same town and then you see he will be in NYC doing a tour of the Raphael exhibit at the Met and you buy the tickets before you even know if you are free that day because you can’t pass up this opportunity. Too common!

I first heard of Luc Travers from my friend, Nay Nay, who recommended his booklet, Touching the Art. It completely changed the way I experience museums and art and I wish more people knew about Luc and his work!

We did a tour with Luc on a Saturday the weekend before the Met Gala and it was an absolute zoo. Since Luc is a pro, he was able to navigate us through the museum smoothly while allowing us to see (and ✨touch✨) the art in a thoughtful and fun way. Sign up for Luc’s newsletter at the bottom of his website to find out about upcoming tours!

I rate this 10 out of 10 BLUGHies and hope that you get to experience one of Luc’s tours one of these days too.

KNICKS IN FIVE

🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭 10/10 BLUGHies

I can neither claim to be from New York, nor can I say I am a lifelong Knicks fan. But I have lived here for 9 years and I can absolutely appreciate the first championship win for the Knicks since 1973!

I don’t do crowds or lines but on Saturday I stood in line for 2 hours so I could watch what ended up being the final game in a crowded bar THAT WE COULDN’T EVEN GET INTO AS IT TURNS OUT. It’s all good though because we ended up at our favorite neighborhood bar, Lowlands, to watch the beginning and end of the game (we watched the middle of the game in the comfort of our apartment). IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Can you feel the energy through this video?

I give this 10 out of 10 BLUGHies!!!! I was so hype that line standing and crowds didn’t bother me. Joy continues to radiate throughout the boroughs.

SEEING THIS ROBIN’S NEST ON THE GROUND

🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭 10/10 BLUGHies

It’s just really pretty and I got to see it and no one else was around because it was a rainy day hike in Big Indian.

10 out of 10 BLUGHies.

THERE IT IS 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭🦭 10/10 BLUGHies

To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of his podcast, Jason hosted his first live taping of his podcast. His brother, Trey, traveled here from LA for the occasion and it was very special and good and above all, HILARIOUS.

Jason has come to know so many funny/talented/creative people through his podcast and 4 of his illustrious former guests performed for the live taping. I have created a word to convey the collective effect of their performances: hilardedisurpritouching. If you don’t understand, it’s just because you weren’t there. Luckily, though, you can listen to the live taping here or watch it here!

This experience gets 10/10 BLUGHies because it was a 10 year anniversary and so I feel the BLUGHies must correspond with the anniversary year but also this was genuinely an amazing day and friends showed up in meaningful way and it was a significant deposit in the memory bank.

CAFFEINE WITHDRAWAL*

🦭🦭 2/10 BLUGHies

Don’t let social media (the BLUGH) fool you, not everything is a 10/10 BLUGHies experience.

In an effort to cool it on the coffee consumption, I decided it would be a fantastic idea to quit coffee cold turkey. So on a Thursday I had my last typical intake of coffee (~3 cold brews 😵‍💫), on Friday I had no coffee, and on Saturday I died.

I was getting my nails done and I was overcome with nausea, a pounding headache, and an insidious sense of doom. I politely asked to leave (still seeking permission to take any action WELL into my 30s!!!), paid and made it home. From there, I slept the rest of the day and had a coke and survived.

IF I AM BEING HONEST WITH YOU!!!!?!!? The whole thing kind of scared me. I was WAY too dependent on caffeine and physically, it was the worst I can remember feeling in a long time.

This experience gets 2 out of 10 BLUGHies because it wasn’t ALL bad: I’m not addicted to drugs anymore (unless being a silly goose is a drug, never quitting that).

*Photo not from day of caffeine withdrawal. I just sleep a lot and so I have a lot of photos that people take of me sleeping because for some reason they don’t think it’s normal to sleep 12 hours then nap for 2 hours.
